Unionville Festival Message
Dear Community,
After an 11 year run, UVIA is announcing that it will no longer hold its Unionville Festival. We have truly enjoyed putting on this event over the years, and wish to thank the countless volunteers, businesses, town employees, students, and civic and community leaders for their involvement and financial support. We have so many wonderful memories of the good times we have experienced and hope that all who joined us over the years do as well. Now its time to explore new ideas and plan for future projects.
Special events, like so many other things, have a shelf life and we at UVIA felt it was a good time to refocus our efforts to address our core mission - advocasy for town projects that make Unionville a great place to live and work, and beautification projects such as assisting business owners along the Farmington river with evasive weed control and providing new plantings in public areas.
But fear not - UVIA will be assisting the Town of Farmington Recreation Department present the annual summer movie night series with Farmington Community Chest and continue to co-host the annual Jingle Bell Jubilee festivities with the Unionville Museum to kick off the holiday season. In addition, the town of Farmington has some exciting fall events and we will be partnering with them which we feel will allow us to continue to serve the residents we care about and give us an opportunity to reach out to a broader audience throughout the Farmington Valley. Watch the town newsletter for future event details.
We would love your support too! We are a small group but are always seeking new volunteers to attend our quarterly meetings to share ideas and input on things we can do to continue to make Unionville thrive and grow. Please contact us if you are interested at 860-559-8532.
We hope you have a wonderful summer and join us at the summer movie nights at Union School. We also hope you plan to attend the always wonderful Fireman’s Carnival and the new Unionville Museum exhibit commemorating the 125th Anniversary of the Tunxis Hose Fire Company Number.
See you there!
